We are developing the technology to activate electronic health records (EHR) data for clinical trials from the ground up. Billions of dollars are being spent every year to parse the EMR data, interpret it and then enter it into some forms with discrete fields so that researchers can then analyze patient journeys. Triomics is pioneering a platform that will automate this process and we are looking for a senior oncology informaticist. If you want to solve decades of inefficiencies in clinical research with some of the latest tools at your disposal, this role is cut out for you.
Our mission involves constructing natural language processing solutions from the ground up to tackle the untapped reservoir of patient data currently locked within EMR notes. Here at Triomics, we're bullish on the potential of large language models as the solution to unlock this goldmine of information. It's an exciting time for us given the recent advancements in healthcare interoperability as well as natural language processing.
Our team is led by young, highly-optimistic founders who are former MIT and Adobe researchers, bringing a wealth of complementary expertise to the table. Since our founding two years ago, we've secured over $14 million in venture capital from investors like Lightspeed, Nexus, Y Combinator, and General Catalyst. In 2022 alone, we've grown our revenue by 8x, which is a testament to the effectiveness of our approach.
Position Summary:
As the Director of Oncology Informatics, you will be integral in devising our informatics strategy and administering data resources to enhance the comprehension and treatment of cancer. This role necessitates a profound understanding of clinical oncology data, real-world data frameworks, genomics, and computational methodologies to generate significant insights for cancer patients and clinicians.
Key Responsibilities:
Direct the development and execution of our Oncology Informatics strategy in line with our business goals. Leverage oncology data frameworks such as mCODE for cancer data management and analysis.
Establish procedures for the extraction, management, and analysis of clinical data elements captured in cancer clinical trial CRFs, including inclusion and exclusion criteria.
Collaborate with the CTO to integrate oncology informatics insights with the latest advancements in natural language processing.
Design and implement methods to transform the oncology databases so that they can be analyzed programmatically, such as identifying lines of therapy from medication data.
Devise strategies for managing and interpreting genomics data for cancer.
Coordinate with technical teams to manage ETLs and other data operations using SQL.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to optimize the use of oncology informatics.
Qualifications:
An advanced degree in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Health Informatics, or a related field.
At least 10 years of experience in Oncology Informatics, including a minimum of 5 years in a leadership position.
Robust understanding of clinical data frameworks and oncology data models.
Profound understanding of clinical events in oncology, such as disease progression, treatment paradigms, and genomics data.
Expertise in working with EMR data, data warehouses, and other structured and unstructured data sources. Proficiency in SQL and experience in managing ETL processes.
Exceptional communication and leadership skills, capable of thriving in a dynamic, fast-paced startup environment.
Experience in collaborating with cross-functional teams and managing stakeholders.
