Job Summary:
The Head of Engineering is responsible for spearheading the growth and expansion of Dropee's engineering team to create, sustain, and enhance the platform. This incumbent is also responsible to provide advice and recommendation to the senior leadership team on matters related to technology engineering, resources and development.
Key Accountabilities:
- Develop, implement, maintain a technical roadmap aligning to business strategy.
- Strategise and review application solutions, methodologies, tool and technology for engineering to ensure product vision is realised through excellence in execution.
- Define systems development projects to support Dropee's objectives and plans.
- Select, adopt and adapt appropriate systems development methods, tools and techniques selecting appropriately from predictive (plan-driven) approaches or adaptive (iterative/agile) approaches.
- Monitor and ensure technical documents are updated accordingly.
- Lead and scale the engineering team, providing mentorship, guidance, and support to ensure optimal performance and growth.
- Manage the engineering resource to ensure development efficiency.
- Monitor and report on the progress of development projects to ensure projects are carried out in accordance with agreed architectures, standards, methods and procedures (including secure software development).
- Provide advice and recommendation to the senior leadership team on matters related to technology engineering and development.
- Keep up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies, and implement them where appropriate.
Position Specifications:
- At least 7 years of experience in engineering development, preferably in e-Commerce/ Fintech industry.
- At least 4 years of experience in leading a team.
- At least 2 - 3 years of experience in PHP (Laravel)/MYSQL/Bootstrap/NuxtJs.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or equivalent.
- Hands-on experience in back-end and front-end development.
- Experience working with B2B ecommerce, startup/scale-up or similar industries preferred.
- Strong analytical, strategic and coordinating skills.
