We’re looking for a Head of Engineering to work directly with our CTO to help build and lead a world-class engineering team at Paragon. You'll be responsible for recruiting, managing, and scaling our engineering organization while developing and refining Paragon's engineering and broader product strategy - if that sounds exciting to you, we'd love to chat!
You'll work with us in our beautiful office in West LA. If you're currently based somewhere else in the US, we can sponsor your relocation to Los Angeles or work together remotely.
What you'll do
- Hire, lead, and mentor a team of software engineers and product managers – growing people as you grow our business and technology
- Promote a culture of engineering excellence and strengthen the technical expertise of our engineering teams
- Manage software development projects by setting requirements, goals, and timelines
- Design strategies for future development projects based on the company's overall objectives and resources
- Advise on both technical and product roadmaps, ensuring that the vision aligns with broader company objectives
- Partner with cross-functional team members to deeply understand pain points for customers and translate them into clear and robust engineering solutions
- Monitor reliability and performance of all internal systems to suggest improvements
- Work with the different teams to manage Jira board and project management tools
You should have
- Experience managing and developing an Engineering Team at a venture-backed SaaS company scaling from ~$1-20M+ ARR
- Experience in recruiting, employee development, sprint planning, and developing a strong Engineering culture (or has worked with one)
- 8+ yrs in Software Development and 2+ yrs in SaaS Engineering management roles (EM, Director, Head of Engineering)
- Familiarity with best practices for full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, continuous deployments, testing, and operations
- Developed enterprise-level applications with a focus on quality, performance, scalability, and security
- Expert in JavaScript (React, Node.js, Typescript)
