Founding Product Designer

The code editor is the central product used by programmers to build software, all day, every day. Programming is a deeply joyful process of problem-solving and creation. And we currently have the necessity and opportunity to design for a future where programmers, rapidly accelerated with AI, continue to enjoy the process of building software and be better at it.

Our work right now involves coming up with new paradigms for how developers interact with AI code assistants, and vice versa. There is a lot of trust to be established and new habits to be formed for using powerful, yet intuitive AI tools.

We expect that you:

• Have a knack for designing professional tools.
• Deeply understand the tools programmers use in the development environment, especially within and around the editor.
• Lead the innovation and design for new paradigms for in-flow developer and AI interaction.
• Design the product to accommodate the current technology, as well as the rapid model improvements coming our way.
• Think philosophically about the future of software development and the role of developers, personally and for organisations.
• Ship fast, and prototype faster. As design specifications or code.
