We’re looking for a frontend engineer excited by the prospect of building the software that powers the most productive work environment for knowledge workers.

What you'll work on:

• Review designs from our founding designer, write code, get it reviewed, and then ship it to production on your first day
• Work closely with our CTO to define the frontend structure, libraries, and components that our next 10 engineers will find a joy to work with
• Take part in our biweekly sprints, working closely with the founders and our founding designer to brainstorm potential solutions for user problems and sprint goals
• Help make engineering decisions and weigh tradeoffs. Think 80/20 rule, but know that that doesn’t always mean trading code quality and maintainability for moving fast. Yes, premature optimization is the root of all evil 97% of the time, but knowing what comprises that 3% that’s going to cost us more time down the road if we don’t invest now is crucial
• Talk to users to help inform product and engineering decisions towards refining product-market fit and growth
• Gain valuable experience for starting your own company one day

This role may be a great fit if:

• Have 3+ years of experience with React, Typescript, and SCSS
• Feel confident bootstrapping a new web app from the first git init to deploying it and sending a link to https://mytestsite.flow.club for the team to check out
• You enjoy talking to customers and figuring out how we can improve our product to better serve their needs

Who you'll be working with

• Along with our Founding Full-Stack Engineer, you'll be our first two engineering hires, working closely with our technical founder, who has written all of the code so far.
• You will also work closely with our CEO and our founding designer

Logistics

• We currently have a hybrid setup: we meet at our office in San Francisco twice a week and work remotely the other three days. We're still experimenting, but we believe this creates the right balance of in-person energy and creativity for sprint planning, brainstorms, and discussions while maintaining flexibility for autonomous deep work and better work/life balance.
