As our Founding Designer, you'll play a pivotal role in this transformative journey, using your expertise to craft a product that blends functionality, aesthetic appeal, and a user-centered experience. 

Role

We are seeking a visionary Founding Designer who can understand our users' functional needs, while innovating to create a delightful and engaging aesthetic experience. You will be reporting directly to our founder/CEO, Abdullah Al Zandani. We value bold, detail-oriented problem solvers who aren't afraid to challenge the status quo and bring unique, creative solutions to the table.

Responsibilities

1. Dive deep into the needs and pain points of our users, utilizing these insights to inform user-centric design solutions.

2. Foster close collaboration with product and engineering teams to ensure the seamless integration of design and functionality.

3. Craft and maintain a design system that supports efficient product development and resonates with our brand aesthetics.

4. Employ a data-driven approach to conduct usability tests, gather user feedback, and iterate the product design for continuous improvement.

5. Conceptualize and create user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs that seamlessly intertwine form and function.

6. Make bold design decisions when necessary, justify your choices, and challenge conventional design norms for breakthrough solutions.

7. Advocate for a user-centric, detail-oriented, and innovative design culture within the company.

Qualifications

1. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a design leadership role, preferably within a SaaS or tech environment.

2. Front-end engineering skills that can commit code and understanding of design systems.

3. A portfolio showcasing proficiency in UX/UI design and evidence of unique, creative problem solving.

4. Proven experience transitioning from an individual contributor to a team leader.

5. Expertise in design software (like Sketch, Figma, or Adobe Creative Suite) and prototyping tools.

6. Strong understanding of design principles, current design trends, and design system methodologies.

7. Proven experience in user research, usability testing, and leveraging user feedback to enhance design iterations.

8. Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with an ability to make and justify bold design decisions.

9. Degree in Design, CS, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field is a plus.

Compensation and Benefits

• $130k-$160k base salary

• 0.2% - 0.6% stock options
