🎯 The Role

As a Founding Backend Engineer, you’ll have the autonomy to design, develop, and build highly scalable, high-performance applications that will shape the future of compliance software. You’ll tackle complex challenges that have a meaningful impact on our customers, working closely with the founding team to influence our roadmap.

💪 What You’ll Do

• Architect and build backend services that scale to handle high volumes of traffic.
• Solve real-world problems in financial crime detection and risk management.
• Write high-quality, testable, and readable code that powers our platform.
• Take ownership of projects and break down large, complex problems into implementable solutions.
• Work across modern stacks, embracing new technologies with excitement and curiosity.
• Review code and maintain standards of excellence across the team.
• Stay up to date with the latest LLM developments and integrate cutting-edge AI technology into core workflows.
• Value in-person collaboration, believing it fosters creativity, innovation, and stronger team dynamics.

👀 Who We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who’s driven by a customer-first mindset, obsessed with product details, and committed to building impactful solutions.

Requirements:

• You care deeply about customer needs and the finer product details.
• You have a problem-solving mindset and a thirst for learning new things.
• You have experience leading projects, working cross-functionally, and taking ownership to drive initiatives to successful completion.
• Proven experience writing web applications in languages like TypeScript, Go, Java, Python, or similar.
• Strong foundation in relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL technologies (DynamoDB, Redis).
• You understand scalable architectures and how to design systems for performance.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Excellent communication skills.

Nice to Have:

• A degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering.
• Experience in building multi-tenant SaaS platforms.
• Familiarity with AI systems and TypeScript.
• Experience building fintech or compliance products.
