About the role
This founding sales hire will work very closely with the CEO, leading the transition away from founder-led sales and building out processes and foundations for a dedicated sales org. The role will form a critical part of our core team and overall strategy over the next phase of Runway’s growth. There will be plenty of opportunities for collaboration across the company, and this role can have a large impact on other areas of the business: customer success, marketing, product and support.
This is an ideal role for an experienced sales profile who enjoys the opportunity to fully own and build a playbook from the ground up, who wants to have an outsized impact at an early stage startup, and who can excel in fast-paced environments with plenty of ambiguity.
About you
You are excited by the idea of stepping into a role for which no rule book or baselines exist, where you’ll get to pursue opportunities and build a process with a lot of autonomy and empowerment.
You are willing to get your hands dirty with the full scope of the sales cycle, including building up your own pipeline and book of business.
You have experience in B2B SaaS, specifically in selling developer tools and working with mid-market and enterprise deals.
You are empathetic and curious about our customer context, with an eagerness to learn about their goals, challenges and solutions.
You are comfortable with modern sales tools, you are organized and show attention to detail, and you realize the value of thorough data collection and documentation.
You are hardworking and a self-starter.
What you'll do
- Assist with existing and new pipeline as you learn the ropes
- Run discovery and demo calls, and build necessary collateral
- Build outbound and ABM campaigns to target high priority net new prospects
- Formalize pipeline reviews, deal reviews and forecasting
- Document and standardize sales process
- Collaborate with other departments to prioritize go-to-market initiatives
