For our GMs: We build tools to help the small creators, not the Matt Mercer’s of the world (though we still think he’s really cool). Many of our GMs make a living running games on StartPlaying which is creative, social, flexible, and meaningful work.

For our players: We wanted to create a world where every person, no matter where you live, or what language you speak, has a place to find GMs, other players, and games they love. Many of our players have found belonging in their StartPlaying communities. They’ve written books about their experiences, reconnected with family members, and attended each other’s weddings! 💻 Role 💻

  • This role is to be the Executive Assistant to the Leadership team of StartPlaying. (Currently, 4 people that you will meet during interviews)
  • This role, at times, requires off-hours responsiveness. For example, when someone is in a different time zone. This is 90% within the US.
  • Help leadership by doing research on complex and technical subjects.
  • Be Leadership’s right hand for organization and prioritization.
    • Help manage emails, calendars, and to-dos by tracking priorities and deadlines, blocking out time on calendars, and helping defer or delegate when appropriate.
    • Work closely and effectively with the Leadership team to keep them informed of upcoming commitments and responsibilities, following up appropriately.
    • Assist with developing and updating presentations, spreadsheets, and other documents as needed, such as organizational charts and group lists.
    • Manage daily administrative functions in support of the Leadership team. Ensure proper preparation, materials and files are ready for each day.
    • Attend meetings to take and distribute notes, action items/next steps, and communicate those materials to the wider team.
  • Laugh at CEO’s poor attempts at humor.
  • Manage smaller personal requests as needed by the Leadership Team.
  • Be creatively minded to execute different types of projects.
  • Manage any special projects.
  • Research complex and technical subjects.
    • EG: Creating and collating data from 10 or more sources.
  • Book all travel and manage expenses.
  • Exercise complete discretion and handle highly confidential information with 100% integrity.
  • Problem-solve and troubleshoot all issues, whether working cross-functionally with internal teams to execute a new solution.
  • As the company grows, provide backup assistance to other administrative support team members as needed.



  • 3+ years supporting Founder/CEO/high-level management team members in a fast-paced and demanding work environment.

  • Background in Human Resources or Business (Business Degree, Business Analysis)
  • PMI Certification(s)
