Summary of the Role
Volley Engineering is looking for a thoughtful, decisive, and innovative executive to run all development for its Alexa & Google Home product line. In this role you would assume responsibility for the quality, stability, and hiring of a twenty-person engineering team (and growing!)
This role reports directly to the VP of Engineering, and partners directly with Volley’s Director of Product & Head of Core Technology.
What you'll do at Volley
- Lead the team responsible for Volley’s award-winning fleet of products on Alexa & Google Home
- Oversee development of some of the most beloved game shows of the past half-century
- Hire up brand new teams as new market opportunities emerge
- Dig in with Typescript as you contribute to the roadmap of Volley’s best-in-class engine: GEV (The Good Engine for Voice)
- Drive new DEIB initiatives so that Volley continues to be a vibrant, safe, and rewarding workplace
Stuff you may have done before
- Founded and led a company of your own
- Led a technical organization of 10+ people
- Written or spoken extensively on tech, innovation, and/or leadership
- Overhauled entire engineering groups
- Created a framework or published a notable open-source library
- Shipped some of the best products in the world
- Driven company-wide adoption of a new language, technology, or practice
- Mentored and provided extensive resources to first-time managers
