As a DevOps Engineer at Platypus, you will immediately play an integral role in building out, scaling, and optimizing our platform and CI/CD pipelines. You will join our fast-growing team as the first DevOps engineer that can build and shape the future decision of our infrastructure, culture, and pipelines, delivering outstanding system scalability and developer experiences.
What you’ll do
As a DevOps Engineer, your responsibilities will include:
- Design, build, test, scale, support, and frequently refine our systems infrastructure for all environments, in Docker and Kubernetes.
- Build and improve our CI/CD pipelines, including the design of quality gates and develop test automation.
- Define the team Quality Assurance methodology and means to ensure it.
- Work with our customers' technology teams to ensure proper on-premise installation and scalability, learning from different customer scenarios.
- Work closely with the CTO to help design the overall systems architecture.
About you
Must have
- A scrappy entrepreneurial attitude, with a good understanding of the tradeoffs between quality, performance, and time to ship.
- Strong knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.
- Prior experience creating push-to-deploy CI/CD pipelines into multiple environments.
- Prior experience with AWS, GCP, or MS Azure.
- Prior experience with RDBMS (PostgreSQL, MySQL,...) and SQL language.
- Working knowledge of deploying distributed systems.
- Working knowledge of version control systems such as GIT.
- Working knowledge of open source configuration of monitoring systems such as Nagios, Sensu or Prometheus.
- Passion for Engineering.
Nice to have
- Prior experience with event-driven systems like Kafka.
- Prior experience with other IaC like Terraform, CloudFormation,....
- Prior experience with ETL pipelines.
- Prior experience creating self-hosted/on-prem systems.
- Prior experience working at an early-stage startup.
- Coding or scripting knowledge in JavaScript, Java, Python or Rust.
