Job Description

Harmonic Discovery is looking for a part-time or full-time Deep Learning Intern. We are recruiting graduate machine learning students to help build our computational platform with the aim to discover the next generation of medicines to treat diseases such as cancer. Harmonic Discovery offers a hands-on deep learning experience for interested students. In this internship, you will train deep learning models for de novo compound generation.

Qualifications

• PhD student in the field of Deep Learning or related area, enthusiastic about application of computational methods to drug discovery; exceptional Master students will be considered.
• Hands-on knowledge and experience in training generative machine learning models, especially transformer/large language models, ideally on real world data.
• Exceptional Python programming skills.
• Experience with deep learning platforms, preferably PyTorch.
• Familiarity with git.

Preferred skills

• Experience with generative machine learning models for chemistry or related field.
• Experience with reinforcement learning methods, such as MCTS, PPO, or actor-critic methods.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills.

Why you should intern at Harmonic Discovery

We are a drug discovery company developing a new generation of therapeutics that embrace the complexity of disease. Currently available approaches for creating drugs work on the principle of finding one drug-one protein 'magic bullets'. However, diseases such as cancer and autoimmunity are often the result of several dysregulated proteins across many distinct biological pathways.

We are building a computational-experimental platform to design therapeutics that can target several disease-causing proteins at once. By designing multi-specific drugs, we are able to create therapeutics that are more efficacious and safer than existing medicines.

At Harmonic Discovery, interns directly contribute to the science performed at the company. Our interns have been highly successful, presenting their work at top conferences, such as the American Chemical Society and NeurIPS.
