Controller

Summary of the Role  

Volley’s finance team is looking for a Controller to help build out the company’s internal accounting team and process. In this high impact role, you will be responsible for designing the process around our accounting and reporting, while also collaborating with company leadership and the finance team to help forecast the company’s operational expense and growth. You  will also have the opportunity to mentor and support the technical growth of future hires on the accounting team.

What you'll do at Volley

• Design Volley’s internal accounting process from start to finish. 
• Migrate outsourced accounting methods in house and develop a monthly and quarterly close process.
• Work on moving towards proper GAAP compliant accounting.
• Manage and prepare for external company audits.
• Collaborate with finance and data analytics to help forecast the company’s performance & growth plans.

Stuff you may have done before

• Prepared for and worked through a yearly audit cycle, ideally from both sides (internal and an accounting firm)
• Applied US GAAP, SEC regulations, and SOX/internal controls
• Been part of a high performing accounting team.

Must-haves

• 4+ years of combined public accounting and private industry (preferably at a high growth technology company)
• Experience with NetSuite or equivalent ERP system
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
• Experience leading multiple finance or accounting reports
• Interest in cross-functional work (FP&A, etc.)
• CPA preferred
