Avionics Engineer

We are seeking an Avionics Engineer to control the system architecture of our spacecraft. You will work directly with the Turion team to assess the integrity of the spacecraft from a multi-disciplinary perspective. Your experience, creativity, and ambition will directly impact the composition of the vehicles as the missions increase in complexity.

Responsibilities

• Help build optimal processes for hardware development and collaboration across the company
• Test and validate hardware systems across the spacecraft
• Assist in recruiting, interviewing, and hiring additional teammates to our rapidly-growing team

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline
• Demonstrated ability to personally design, build, and test hardware from scratch
• Experience with electronic components, wire harnesses, and electrical test equipment
• Experience using Matlab, Simulink, Python, or similar software in a professional setting
• Must be able to work extended hours and weekends as needed

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Professional experience in system integration of mechanical and electronics components
• Experience with FPGAs, Microcontrollers, and communication schemes (CAN, SPI, Ethernet, I2C)
• Software development experience with C, C++, or Python
• Radiation effects knowledge
• Experience qualifying aerospace hardware for flight
• Environmental test experience
• Ability to work with minimal direction and oversite
• Professional experience during multiple phases of design involving satellites or spacecraft
