We are seeking an Avionics Engineer to control the system architecture of our spacecraft. You will work directly with the Turion team to assess the integrity of the spacecraft from a multi-disciplinary perspective. Your experience, creativity, and ambition will directly impact the composition of the vehicles as the missions increase in complexity.
Responsibilities
- Help build optimal processes for hardware development and collaboration across the company
- Test and validate hardware systems across the spacecraft
- Assist in recruiting, interviewing, and hiring additional teammates to our rapidly-growing team
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline
- Demonstrated ability to personally design, build, and test hardware from scratch
- Experience with electronic components, wire harnesses, and electrical test equipment
- Experience using Matlab, Simulink, Python, or similar software in a professional setting
- Must be able to work extended hours and weekends as needed
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Professional experience in system integration of mechanical and electronics components
- Experience with FPGAs, Microcontrollers, and communication schemes (CAN, SPI, Ethernet, I2C)
- Software development experience with C, C++, or Python
- Radiation effects knowledge
- Experience qualifying aerospace hardware for flight
- Environmental test experience
- Ability to work with minimal direction and oversite
- Professional experience during multiple phases of design involving satellites or spacecraft
