However, the equipment used to communicate with the satellites, i.e. the user terminal, has not benefited from the same rate of innovation. Advanced user terminal solutions are essential for individuals at home, businesses, or moving platforms such as cars, airplanes, or ships in need of uninterrupted connectivity.
UTVATE is here to build the next generation of user terminals that can unlock the true capacity of satellite internet!
To achieve the above goals, we are looking for a passionate Antenna Engineer to develop radiating structures needed within our connectivity solutions.
To comply with U.S. Government space technology export regulations, the applicant must hold U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residency, or protected status as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).
How you will support us:
- Design antenna elements such as patch, slot, dipole, and loop type for use in array antennas
- Optimize antenna performance for metrics such as bandwidth, gain, directivity, return loss, and axial ratio
- Perform system-level design of an antenna array to meet certain G/T, EIRP, and scan range requirements
- Develop scripts to calculate various specifications of an array antenna radiation pattern including directivity, beamwidth, and sidelobe levels
- Perform efficient full-wave simulation of antenna elements and large array antennas using HFSS or CST
- Develop test plans and use lab equipment such as VNA/PNA, signal generator, spectrum analyzers, and nearfield/farfield antenna test instruments/facilities to test and debug antennas
