As part of the product team, the BI Analyst will interface with business and engineering teams to tackle all matters concerning data, analytics, and intelligence. This position will be responsible for engaging with customers on their data and analytic needs and delivering the Analytics and Intelligence products together with a team of data scientists. You will also be responsible for monitoring our internal user engagement metrics. There will also be some degree of independent project management involved.
Responsibilities:
- Work with data scientists, designers, and developers to build features for analytics and intelligence products
- Learning and fully understanding the data structures in databases and applications
- Creating and updating the following artifacts in support of data and analytics application development: product requirements, process maps, use cases, project plans, and release notes
- Collect and analyze data to determine product direction, define business requirements and build dashboards
- Serve as the internal and external subject matter expert for data and analytics product offerings and work in close collaboration with the customer-facing business teams
- Assist in creating training and documentation materials in support of the implementation and launch of data and analytics dashboards, reports, products, and features
- Be the voice of the customer to internal teams and conduct research to identify customer needs and market gaps for analytics products
- Able to create analytics product MVPs yourself using, for example, Python, SQL, and more
- Familiarity with Big Data, Machine Learning, and AI technologies is a bonus
- You can translate product goals to technical specs and use your statistics knowledge to evaluate the performance of products created
- Detail-oriented and insists on the highest standards
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree, with a focus in Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering or any quantitative background preferred.
- Strong data analytics background with a demonstrated ability to translate business needs into technical requirements
- Very proficient in SQL, data visualization, and business intelligence tools such as Tableau with related experience analyzing data to write queries and reports
- Proficiency with software development methodologies such as Agile and experience working with Scrum teams is a bonus
- Excellent communications skills - both oral and written
- Must be flexible and willing to undertake a wide variety of challenging tasks
- Experience with A/B and Multivariate testing/experimentation methods
- Experience working with Data Science teams to create Machine Learning models to power products/features is a bonus
