Wunderman Thompson Tokyo is looking for an eCommerce Lead who will lead the eCommerce area in a wide variety of functions including client service and support, content services, and new business development. In this role, you’ll partner with the local executive leadership team and be closely working with the Strategy, Customer Experience, Data, Technology, and Creative Teams.

What you’ll do

  • Work with clients and internal stakeholders as a trusted advisor and hands-on practitioner to identify opportunities to drive effectiveness, optimization, and improvement on clients’ marketing techniques, strategies, and performances by putting the customer at the center of business and marketing practice.
  • Support a team of consultants with recurring tasks and special projects
  • Check live Inventory postings and analyze for potential issues. Track Inventory performance and any negative reviews
  • Set up promos/coupons/lightning deals, ensure they go live, monitor as they are live, and track performance
  • Supports Content Consultants, Designers, and Copywriters in the execution of content production, optimization, and management for our clients
  • Support initial research for new client pitches. Support proposal research and development.
  • Work with the global Wunderman Thompson network and Centres of Excellence to deliver the best value to clients and propose solutions addressing clients' needs.

What you’ll need

  • You are self-driven, detailed oriented, able to multi-task and shift gears and adapt to a wide variety of projects covering all aspects of eCommerce, with the ability to be hands-on when required. You also have a passion to dive into data, solve problems, and improve on existing processes.
  • Experience in marketing, business, or operations is strongly preferred.
  • 10+ years of e-Commerce experience, with experience in major Japanese e-commerce platforms (Rakuten, Amazon, Yahoo, etc) and global (Amazon, eBay, Lazada, Alibaba).
  • Strong analytical/data management skills.
  • High attention to detail and an ability to manage large amounts of data in an organized and structured way.
  • Superior presentation skills with the ability to persuade and inform, while maintaining agency standards and strategic point-of-view.
  • Effective leadership and managerial skills. Can both inspire, train and mentor junior staff members in multi-lingual environments.
  • Great time management, project management skills to juggle between projects assess the time required for tasks and projects.
  • Experience in agile and waterfall methodologies experience is a must.
  • Enjoy working with clients and finding innovative ways to use data to help brands increase awareness, sell, and stay relevant.
  • Curious, critical thinker who loves keeping her/himself on top of industry changes before they impact clients.
  • Continuously learn about new technologies, processes, and digital trends.
  • Be willing and flexible to juggle responsibilities and wear many hats as needed to ensure success in client engagements.
  • Business level proficiency for both Japanese and English
