Golden Gate Ventures is a VC fund in Southeast Asia (SEA) founded by Silicon Valley natives. Since 2011, Golden Gate Ventures has launched four funds and invested in over 60 companies. The firm focuses on investing in the rising consumer internet class in Southeast Asia. Breakout companies include Carousell (mobile classifieds), Appota (Vietnam mobile publishing platform), Alodokter (HealthTech), Carro (Auto Marketplace), and Xendit (Payment Processing).
We’re going through unprecedented growth at the moment - new funds, new portfolio companies, new geographies and more folks in the team to help get us there. We are especially proud of our team and our story so far, but we want to make sure we double-down on this so we continue to be the pioneers of Venture Capital in the South East Asia region and beyond.
Where do you come in?
Golden Gate Ventures is looking for a Finance & Operations Trainee that will be an integral support to the team and manage a broad range of responsibilities from financial management and accounting, compliance reporting. We’re looking for a highly motivated, detail oriented, numbers-loving person that can balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines. This person will be challenged to think, work creatively and independently to adapt to the pace of the company.
There will be lots of tasks thrown at you and we want somebody that can roll with the punches, and learn along the way. We see this as a long term relationship and want you to grow within the firm. This is an exciting opportunity at one of the top tier Venture Capital funds Southeast Asia.
What you’ll be doing:
Finance Operations
- Assist with operational matters with fund administrators/accountants for monthly closing process, quarterly GST processes and reconciliation of transactions.
- Assist with cash management (Handling payments; monitoring receivables/ payables) and tracking of expenses for the Fund Management company, Fund and SPVs.
- Assist with budget variance reports.
- Assist with compliance reporting relating to MAS, DITC, FATCA, CRS and any other regulations applicable to the fund.
- Maintain corporate information for all funds and entities managed by Golden Gate Ventures.
- Liaise with auditors, tax agents and lawyers on all finance and operational matters.
Legal Execution
- Assist with execution of investment legal documentation; and fund manager financial and legal documents
- Manage signing of documents and courier services required by the company
Compliance
- Assist with KYC upkeep in the appropriate folders of the company and safeguarding important documents in the company
Portfolio Operations
- Maintain and update fund and portfolio transactions on internal systems
- Assist with quarterly valuation review
- Updating information in investment repository

- Bachelor's degree or Diploma equivalent in fund administration preferred
