As a Full-Time Teacher, your main job scope is teaching and lesson preparation. You will also need to attend training sessions periodically and take up non-teaching responsibilities.
Minimum Diploma and above
Familiar with the Primary School English syllabus and its challenges
Preferably has experience teaching in a primary school and in a classroom setting
Training is provided and compulsory
Candidates who have just graduated from University or equivalent are welcome to apply
Ex-MOE / NIE-trained / Experienced teachers are welcome to apply
Has passion and energy as a person
Engaging and effective in communication
Able to relate with children well
Committed to delivering lessons with excellence
Not afraid of hard work and willing to go the extra mile
Has a personal drive and desire to progress, does not resent change
Commit to a 44-hour work week, day-off on Monday
Take 15 classes a week (Each class is 2 hours)
Work on weeknights (except Monday) and 1.5 days of weekends (eg. a full day on Saturday and half a day on Sunday)
Willing to be trained (regardless of prior teaching experience)
Willing to travel to different locations to teach:
Ang Mo Kio Central, Marine Parade, Bukit Timah and Clementi
Willing to commit for at least one FULL academic year (till the end of 2020)
Training / Probation Details
1 month of intensive training
3 months of probation
Training includes theory and practical aspects such as mock teaching, class observations, taking of segments etc.
During the training period, a teacher may be given other non-teaching responsibilities such as being involved in the Materials Department.
Evaluation and Remuneration
There will be a formal evaluation within the first week of training.
Teacher-in-training will be evaluated and the outcome of the evaluation will be made known to him/her on the spot. (i.e. to be able to continue with training or not)
After 1 month of training, a teacher will start taking classes. A teacher will be under probation for the first 3 months of work (including 1-month training period).
He/She will be paid a probation salary. Upon confirmation, the teacher will be paid a different salary.
Teachers who have shown effectiveness and consistency in their standard of teaching may be rewarded with incentives and increment on a case-by-case basis.
Teachers may be promoted to supervisory/managerial positions to lead other teachers and/or manage a branch.
