Building a startup is hard. You can now get all the help you need. | BEAMSTART News

Entrepreneurship is hard. In fact, building a company can be an incredibly difficult and lonely journey.

Unlike most professions where you have years of education to prepare you for, many people embark on their entrepreneurial journey unprepared and unaware of what's to come - me being one of them.

I remember when I was starting out, me and my team made so many mistakes and messed up in so many areas that I would be totally embarrassed of today. As we were new and didn't know what we were doing, we had to figure many things out on our own.

We didn't know how to build an app, or manage a company, or raise funds. We were just a bunch of kids with a dream trying to build something cool. And that's probably why we failed.

It is a lonely journey.

The journey was rough.

There were days where the low points were really low, with sleepless nights and constant anxiety attacks around the corner.

People didn't take us seriously, especially in the beginning when we had little results to show. We didn't have a proper business model and money was hard to come by. Days passed and I would put up a front showing that I'm alright, but deep inside I knew we weren't doing well. I wasn't doing well.

Very few understood what we were going through, and many thought we were crazy for doing what we were doing. Friends told me to "get real and get a real job", and they were probably right. Ego kept us going. True enough, that venture eventually failed.

It was a strange feeling. Although I was surrounded by people, I never felt so alone before.

During those times, I wished there was someone there who could've guided and supported us.

And this is why we started BEAM. We've been through the failures, and we know what the journey is like. We know it can be lonely and rough, and we believe we could bring some value here with the experience, connections, and infrastructure we've gained along the way.

We all need a little help.

The Venture Development Program

Starting from today, entrepreneurs can now leverage on BEAM via the Venture Development Program to gain the necessary support and guidance needed for their ventures to take off.

At the end of the day, our aim is to support entrepreneurs all the way until they're able to build sustainable/investable companies.

What we will bring:

  • Access to a wide array of experts and mentors with experience and know-how of building businesses and products.
  • Monthly trainings on a broad array of topics (product validation & development, marketing, fundraising, pitching, operations, finance, legal/term sheets, and more)
  • Focused Support Groups to forge discussions, provide emotional support, and to serve as a platform for collaboration.
  • Product Validation Support.
  • Media Coverage and Publicity to build credibility
  • Distribution and Marketing Leverage for Customer Acquisition
  • Fundraising support, investor connections, and potential strategic investments (BEAM may invest in some of these companies that are a fit).
  • Market Access to 9 countries (7 capital cities, 2 major cities)
  • Hiring and HR Support
  • Warm Introductions to a broad array of business connections.
  • Emotional Support when times are rough.
  • and more...

We believe that no man is an island and business success can only be attained with plenty of support and backing along the way. We want to be that pillar of strength for entrepreneurs especially in areas that they fall short of.

Entrepreneurship isn't easy, but we believe the journey could be very fulfilling.

We hope that this program will bring tremendous value to fellow entrepreneurs around the world, and enable many of you to build great companies.
