Selangor Information Technology and Digital Economy Corporation (Sidec) has just launched the Selangor Accelerator Programme (SAP) 2022, with the goal of supporting startups to create and promote innovative solutions.

Main Verticals in SAP

The annual SAP is a programme that develops and empowers innovative enterprises and has returned with a fifth cohort themed 'Clean Zero, Sustainability & Circular Economy.'

According to Yong Kai Ping, chief executive officer of Sidec, a new vertical will be added which is health technology, replacing last year’s e-commerce vertical.

Yong added that the inclusion of health technology as a new element in this year's programme is due to the pandemic, which has driven technology to play a bigger and more essential role in Malaysia's healthcare industry and also throughout the world.

Startups specialising in agricultural technology (agritech), green technology (greentech), smart cities, banking technology (fintech) and the newly added health technology (healthtech) can apply for SAP 2022.

Interested companies must be registered with Suruhanjaya Syarikat Malaysia (SSM) and also have a minimum viable product (MVP) or a beta version of their product.

The deadline of the application is 13 June 2022.

Vision of SAP 2022

The Selangor government is supporting the intensive and organised three-month programme, with Affin Bank as the main sponsor and longterm partner.

"This initiative intends to promote and empower budding pioneer enterprises, particularly in Selangor, as well as provide help and direction they need to obtain matching capital based on the companies' requirements and background," said CEO of Sidec, Yong Kai Ping.
