Indonesia’s Hacktiv8 secures $3 million in pre-Series A round led by East Ventures

Based in Jakarta, Hacktiv8 offers a solution to turn beginners into job-ready web developers in 12 weeks by providing programs for students to learn JavaScript, Node.js, Vue.js, and Facebook’s React framework.

Hacktiv8 plans to use the fresh funds to build more schools and offer the first Income Share Agreement (ISA) programme in Indonesia.

The company collaborates with 250 hiring partners, including tech unicorns like Tokopedia, Gojek, and Bukalapak, who have signed agreements to employ its graduates and participate in a curriculum advisory board to help keep the school’s program up to date.

Established in 2016, Hacktiv8 claims its students typically receive multiple job offers with an average gross salary of US$800 within two to three weeks of graduation.

“Indonesia is one of the countries with a low number of engineers per million population. To fill the talent gap of Indonesia’s burgeoning digital economy, developer Bootcamp such as Hacktiv8 is the only quick solution,” said Willson Cuaca, Managing Partner of East Ventures.
