About Stefan Chew
A multi-award winner and resourceful marketing specialist, Stefan is also an avid inventor of 12 amazing innovations (grand winner of 3 Golds + 1 Silver) granted with patents internationally.
Stefan is actively involved in many renowned societies including Society of Automotive Engineers, Society of Tribologist & Lubrication Engineers, American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Society of Petroleum Engineers etc. In the past he was picked by SAE as their International Advisor to act as liaison officer between SAE & Govt. of Malaysia.
Stefan also has an illustrious history relating to the R&D of many scientific products. He was CTO of Ecotree BioScience a science company that specialises in the production of biobased & biodegradable lubricants. In 2007 Ecotree signed a joint R&D collaboration agreement with the Malaysian Palm Oil Board to produce a commercially viable palm-based biodegradable lubricant & mosquito repellent. After going through exhaustive research, Ecotree's products were sent to many countries for on-site testing; notably amongst them was the collaboration with Hi-Force Australia whereby their products were tested on the heavy earth-moving equipment owned by Alcoa Aluminium.
As a recognition of his outstanding contribution, Stefan was awarded the prestigious Asia Entrepreneur Award in 2010. In 1998, Stefan's image was given a further boost when he successfully organised a tripartite trade alliance between Myanmar, Maldives & Malaysia whereby an agreement of historical importance was signed. Under the agreement, the Malaysian party, represented by Stephen Hansford Petrolub, supplied Myanmar with lubricants on a 3-year contractual basis. In turn, Myanmar substituted their payment with rice exports to Maldives. On receipt of the rice, Maldives paid Stephen Hansford accordingly.
And in 2007, Stefan was invited by Kobe City Govt via JETRO on an all-expenses-paid trip to Japan to share his green technology with Japanese conglomerates.
