PUTRAJAYA (Sept 19): The government has cancelled the contract for Phase 2 of the Klang Valley Double Track (KVDT) upgrading project that was awarded by the previous government to Dhaya Maju LTAT Sdn Bhd on April 4, a month before the 14th general election. Instead, it will issue a call for tender through an open process soon.
Transport Minister Anthony Loke Siew Fook said the decision was made by the Cabinet today after taking into consideration its high project cost of RM5.2 billion. The contract was also awarded through direct negotiation.
