Billions hinge on Dr Mahathir's bid to woo project concessions from China
KUALA LUMPUR/BEIJING (Aug 14): Malaysian Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad arrives in China on Friday seeking to renegotiate, and perhaps cancel, billions of dollars worth of Chinese-invested projects entangled in domestic graft probes.
Ties have been strained since a stunning election victory returned Dr Mahathir to power in May and he suspended unpopular Chinese projects authorised by former premier Datuk Seri Najib Razak.
AR-powered vanity platform Perfect365, which touts more than 100 million (mostly female) users, is the latest startup to embrace blockchain technology and tokenize its platform. Through a collaboration with messaging giant Kik, the beauty app will soon reward users with Kin cryptocurrency for their activity on Perfect365.
